Hey Hey... Feelin Like a Bag of Turtles!
Hi peeps!
I'm starting to feel "human" again... well a little better at least ;)
But I gave "my goddess" what I have had...
What do the kids say?
Pass it on! or You're it! :D
I feel for the self employed when you are sick!
Nobody to "call in sick to" and you gotta push on through or ya don't eat!
So here is a "howl" for all you self employed artists and business people!
ArrrOOooo!
First daily drawing worth showing... Woman in Red.
Yes.
I know I have a thing for blondes all of a sudden ;)

Been Drawing! I swear!
Hehe, OK. Well, so much for trying to put something up every day... I have been drawing... I swear :D
You guys must remember I haven't been in an art class for years (I'm not counting the National Film Board Beginner class I did a couple months ago)...
I think they best thing about class was it made us draw and work on projects daily... It wasn't my major in college but I took figure drawing and sculpture in college after your "typical" high school art classes.
I'm just trying to show you where I came from.
Between University and now it has been a lot of books and self study...
The books I have been using lately are Drawing Words & Writing Pictures
Making Comics
Perspective! For Comic Book Artists: How to Achieve a Professional Look in Your Artwork
Add to that a nice sprinkle of Art and Story podcast from Jerzy Drozd and Mark Rudolph and all I need is more time to draw!
I'll show you some new stuff tomorrow! Promise :)

Coloured and inked!
Well yesterday was a run around day of sorts... Got rid of 3 computers worth of parts to my local computer recycle depot... Always good to help the environment :D
But ALSO worked on perspective and shading... I'd throw the exercise up if anyone asks otherwise (they are basic art class/school stuff) ... I'm just gonna put up the colour I did in Artrage 2.5 ...used the airbrush tool ... "pretty poorly" but That's OK... I'm more worried bout structure and tone than the actual colour process.
I also got some ink work done today with my Manga debut 4 program...It's pretty cool (the program)...I experimented with the ink brush and the "g pen" but I need to do a lot more...Part of the problem was that my nib is worn down on my Wacom tablet and my extras are lost... I blame the thief "Rogue" (our Aussie Cattledog) ...
In any case here are the colour and the ink pictures...
You'll notice the colour is a different look for the character and the ink is taken from my second pencil sketch which I didn't include Sunday! Anyway let me know what you think!?!
We are all works in progress!

Back to Artrage 2.5 and Podcasts !!!
Well I have the first chapter thumbnailed for my upcoming ongoing web comic and like most creative types I can't keep my mind from err ... ahhh ... umm ... CREATING! :D
I blame my latest distraction on a couple excellent podcasts!
I was listening to podcasts Art and Story and Big Illustration Party Time while cleaning my house and getting ready for company yesterday...
Both are excellent podcasts that are very helpful if you have any interest in the creative process of comic books and illustration.
The latest episode from the "Big Illustration" guys had Tony Moore on as their guest. Some excellent discussion ensued about Tony's creative process and illustration tools...
The Art and Story guys have reached 7 parts in their ongoing series called "Your Comic from the Ground Up" as well as 120 segments on creating comics...
I can't recommend them enough as these creators sincerely enjoy what they are doing. To them it isn't "just a job" It's a "lifestyle"!
So here is my latest thing done today (a little bit hung over) the before thumbnail first, the "middle art raged sketch"second (unfortunately my nib is gone on my wacom so I had/have to stop)...
She is a Zelena (the green terror) a character design from chapter two of my ongoing series which will see the light of day soon !
let the guys know what you think of their podcasts and grab a book or three from their sites! They are well worth it.

Goofin With Artrage Studio Pro
Well I (who usually have much to say) haven't had a lot lately. I'm kinda tired of bein a "hater" and have tried to spend my free time drawing and playing guitar... Apologies to my followers ;)
So I will post some of the stuff I've been working on here... This is a quick water colour and pen sketch I did using Artrage Studio Pro and my wacom (took me a few minutes) ...
Cheers!
